Overdyed Sashiko Noragi

A stale KUON piece that reinterprets noragi—traditional Japanese workwear—through a Western-style pattern.
The base fabric is something truly special: it was originally conceived over 40 years ago by Mr. Ohazama of Sanwa Orimono, whose life’s work is sashiko weaving, based on advice from his longtime mentor, the renowned textile artist Yoshitaka Yanagi.
We have updated that original design to create a fabric found nowhere else.
By garment-dyeing this intricate sashiko weave, the piece achieves a depth and richness that you would never expect from a single shade of black.
Offered in a single size with slightly longer sleeves. Limited quantities available due to fabric availability.
