SS26 Picks for a Fresh Start

SS26 Picks for a Fresh Start

Hello, this is Nanako.
Plum blossoms are already in bloom. It's a small reminder that spring is just around the corner.

As the season slowly shifts, we’ve picked some of our favorite SS26 pieces to welcome the fresh start.

Mizuhiki Cap

This cap features an “Oikake-umemusubi” (Chasing Ume Knot) mizuhiki motif, developed in collaboration with mizuhiki artist Kamihitoe. Mizuhiki is a traditional Japanese decorative cord long used to adorn gifts for celebratory occasions. The design carries special meaning for KUON this spring as the brand celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Alongside the cap, the same mizuhiki detail also appears on a clean-cut striped shirt released this season.

To secure the firm, sculptural mizuhiki cord, the team turned to hand-stitched sashiko.

After exploring several techniques, the traditional stitching method proved to be the most fitting solution, both technically and conceptually, reflecting KUON’s deep connection to the Japanese craft.

Available in multiple colorways, the cap is finished with a subtle sheen, giving the piece a refined edge beyond typical streetwear accessories.

Denim Hakama Tapered Trousers

We are introducing a new tapered version of our signature Hakama Pants, released alongside the classic wide silhouette that has become one of KUON’s defining styles. While maintaining the distinctive character of the original design, this new silhouette offers a sharper, more streamlined profile.

Many customers have already had the chance to try them on in-store, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. The pants carry a refined, almost noble atmosphere that makes them versatile—easy to incorporate even into business-casual styling. It’s a piece I find myself recommending with complete confidence every time.

As with last year, the Hakama Pants have been receiving a great deal of attention since their release. Please check the online store for current availability, or visit us in person to experience the fit for yourself.

Salt Shrunk Nylon Coaches Jacket w/BORO Patch

Salt-shrink nylon has become a seasonal staple for KUON, and this season we’ve used the distinctive fabric to create a sporty coach jacket finished with our signature boro patches.

Defined by its crinkled, chirimen-like texture, the fabric brings a unique, fashion-forward character to the piece. At the same time, its densely woven structure offers excellent wind resistance and water repellency compared to standard nylon.

For a deeper look into the unique qualities of KUON’s salt-shrink nylon, be sure to check out this blog article where one of our team members breaks down the fabric in detail.

It makes an easy companion for the season ahead.

KUON pieces are always rich in detail, and I hope this selection gives you a glimpse of some of my personal favorites from this season. Spending time with these pieces like this reminded me once again how fortunate I am to experience KUON’s craftsmanship up close.

After all, seeing (and trying on) is believing. We’d love for you to stop by the store and experience the pieces firsthand.
