Who we are

The Otsuchi Sashiko Project was launched in 2011 to support the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake. Currently, 15 women in their 40s to 80s are working on making products using the traditional technique of “Sashiko” in the Tohoku region.

What we do

First, as the Sashiko artisan division of KUON, the Otsuchi Sashiko technique will be branded as “Sashiko Gals”.

Secondly, we reincarnate items that are no longer in use by customizing them with the Sashiko stitching technique.
