Indigo is considered to have been the first dye used in the world. Japanese indigo is also very popular outside of Japan, and is known by the name "Japan Blue." Made from fermented indigo leaves(Sukumo), Japanese indigo has developed in a way that is unique among all indigo dyes. Items dyed with natural indigo are resistant to fading. Natural indigo also offers a variety of other benefits, including compounds that repel insects. Aizome is one of the KUON’s most popular and basic items.
