This season, KUON presents the theme “Shinobu – 忍”.
Rooted in the Japanese DNA of endurance and blending into the surroundings, we reinterpret these values through a contemporary lens—expressing quiet strength and flexibility. Each piece is designed to harmonize with daily life while carrying a subtle sense of tension that sets it apart.
One garment that embodies this spirit is the Boro Striped Shirket.
Indigo Depths and the Memory of BORO
The body is crafted from heavy cotton moleskin, naturally dyed with indigo. Over time, the fabric evolves, reflecting the life and environment of the wearer, creating a truly personal expression.
On the chest, "Upcycled Boro Type 02" panels are placed as accents. The warmth and rhythm of these aged textiles resonate with the structured stripes, symbolizing the balance between stillness and movement.
The Kimono Collar – Expanding the Possibilities of Styling
Neither a shirt, nor a jacket, but something in between—this “Shirket” is defined by its kimono-inspired collar.
More than just a design feature, the kimono collar represents KUON’s essence. Drawing on his background as both a tailor and a pattern maker, our designer arrived at this detail through an appreciation of the beauty found in traditional Japanese dress.
The unique cut—where straight and curved lines coexist—translates the natural flow of kimono tailoring into a modern silhouette. It can be worn standing up for a sharper impression, or folded down as a shawl collar for a more relaxed look.
Practical details such as waist pockets and side slits, combined with a garment-wash finish, lend the piece a broken-in comfort from the very beginning. Designed to blend tradition with modern urban life, it carries a sense of effortless ease.
Above all, when the collar is worn slightly off the neck—creating that refined, iki silhouette—it feels unmistakably KUON.
