I noticed this when the KUON signature items for the 3rd delivery arrived, but this was the first time I had seen an actual upcycled rag coat jacket.
As far as I had seen in the pictures, it looked like a cute patchwork coach jacket, but when I saw it in person, it was totally different. It certainly has an impact, but it is sophisticated and... "kind of cool.
I feel that this item would sell well only because of the "something cool" feeling it gives off because of its different atmosphere, but I personally like this item very much, so I would like to introduce it to you.

This is a coach jacket with patchwork using remnants from the process of making KUON's signature rag jacket. We think it is a mature casual item with a good blend of traditional and modern looks.
Also, the photos are very nice, but the actual item has many times more presence than the photos. However, when worn, it is a mysterious piece that also gives a sense of calmness.
Scraps of BORO from more than 100 years ago have marks burnt by fire, or torn as if melted, the color may or may not have faded, and one can feel the passage of time in various ways, which is not deterioration or dirt, but rather the accumulated history itself that makes the design one and only.
Warmth of handicraft
As I mentioned, this is made of the remnants of Vintage BORO Blazer.
The Sashiko stitching is done one by one by the people affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Sashiko stitching, which takes time to thread the needle, has a warmth and tenderness that cannot be expressed by a machine, making it a truly special piece of clothing.
And with the wages she earns from their Sashiko, they are able to buy her grandchildren sweets and toys. Isn't it heartwarming?
The one-of-a-kind design born from the accumulation of time, the warmth of the hand patchwork, and the designer's skill added to it all make this a special item without a doubt.
It will look cool just by wearing it over a white T from now on, and in winter it will also make a statement when worn under a coat.
