Fabric

Doro-Zome(Mud Dye) is a natural dying technique unique to Amami Oshima, a small island of Kagoshima prefecture. After dying with the essence of Techi tree (Yeddo hawthorn) and soaking in the muddy rice field, this process is repeated over and over again until the color stays. During this process, irons in the mud and tannin pigments of Techi tree are gradually combined and the color becomes deeper and more glossy. The base fabric made of air-permeable cotton jersey that has moderate thickness and supple elasticity so that it can be worn comfortably all year long. In addition, it is designed to keep its shape after repeated washings.
