"High-density double-woven sashiko-ori fabric with 2-ply 40 count yarn in the warp and 20 count single yarn in the weft. Double weaving of fine yarns makes the fabric light but opaque, and using thicker sashiko threads makes the fabric taut and gives it a three-dimensional surface.
It is difficult to reproduce sashiko-ori with current shuttle weaving machines, but KUON made it possible by decreasing the weaving speed to be as slow as hand weaving andso it takes a very long time to produce. This season, silver firament yarn is used in SASHIKO thread to show unique looks with reflection."
