Hi, this is Shohei.
It's time for the second Black Jeans ageing Report. The first one is here. Let's look at the change in expression four months after purchase.
After 4 months (washed 3 times)
Front
It has many places that are faded and I can see some bumps on the thighs that will form a "Hige".
*"Hige" refers fade lines that occurs around the crotch and thigh area, comes from Japanese word meaning mustache.
Guess what do I have in my heavily rubbed right pocket?
Back
The back of knees started to form a nice "Hachinosu (beehive/honeycomb)".
*Hachinosu refers Hige on the back of knees which often forms in honeycomb like shape.
The side of knees look rubbed hard, and the rolled up part of the hem is quite damaged...
The edges of the pockets are faded much more than other areas. Just for your information, The bottom half of the hip pockets are reinforced, and you don't have to worry about putting hard garments in.
The cowhide patch has also worn out nicely.
Side
The side parts started to fade along with the selvedge.

Compare them
↑(Left) Brand new, (Right) 4 months of wear
As you can easily see when we put them side by side, the white core of the warp threads can be seen in some places, and some parts have stretched while others have shrunk. I enjoy the aging process that is typical of denim.
I will share the ageing again 2 months later. Thank you for your time!
Here is the jeans under observation.
