The first and second drops from the Fall/Winter 2023 collections have arrived, and my wish list has been filled. Actually more than full...
I haven't received any items that I personally ordered at the 2023 Fall/Winter sales market held for buyers. Because of this situation, only my wish list has been growing.
Since I work in the store, I see products from the fall/winter collection every day, so I get more and more attracted to them. And situations like customers in the store trying on the clothes, I see off customers satisfied with shopping, makes me want to buy clothes...My wish list has become so long...Today, I would like to share 3 items from the list.
1. Arimatsu Shibori Long Sleeve T-Shirt
We have 2 colors available in White and Black. The one in my list is Black.
White is dyed and Black is discharge-dyed in shape of lines at the left hem and left sleeve with Arimatsu Shibori technique.
As you can see from the photo above, the uneven dyeing, grazing and blotting as if written with a brush give it a sense of the "warmth of handicraft".
The asymmetrical design with the line on the left side only, which is wabi-sabi. "The joy of incorporating Arimatsu Shibori into daily wear that can be worn without hesitation" made me to put it on my wish list.
This long sleeved T-shirt itself is supple, stretchy, not too thin and not too thick, and hard to lose its shape. No wonder there are so many repeat customers of these KUON T-shirts.
2. Quarter-Zip Hoodie
Available in Light Gray, Indigo and Dark Gray.
This is one of those pieces where you can enjoy the contrast between the shiny, tonal different fabric that you can see when you open the zip.
I was attracted to this Indigo color from the first look, and since it is designed in an anorak style, I was definitely going to order it, but I remember that I always ordered a hoodie every season, and I didn't order it because I have so many hoodies.
The KUON designer, Ishibashi likes anorak styles, and we often produce them.
They are cool, but to be honest, they are a pain to put on and take off as outerwear worn in the city, especially in Tokyo, where there are many opportunities to put on and take off outerwear. However, Ishibashi's love for Anoraks solved this problem by using French Terry fabric.
I'm sure I'll be wearing this anorak styled hoodie so often.
The specially knitted ribs are another detail I like.
I also like the relaxed sleeves derived from anoraks.
I will introduce these details deeper in a future blog entry.
3. Black Denim Hakama Trousers
I have the one in Indigo color, but many customers tried on the black one in the store, and as I looked at it, I put the black one in my wish list.
The warp yarn is rope-dyed four times to make it blacker than usual. In general, rope-dyeing is done twice. And, the weft yarn is skein dyed completely black to the core of the yarn, making the fabric so jet black that it is hard to believe it is denim at first glance. A customer who have tried it on have said, "It looks like a chino cloth, but I feel it is a denim."
If you look closely at the warp yarn, you can see some fibers that have not been dyed, but these white fibers are the key to a good-looking aging.
Speaking of aging, we are particular about the dye used. We use a dye that has more bluish tones than normal black. This prevents the reddish fading that tends to occur with black denim, as if it has been sunburned.
These are the reasons why I want to have black one even I already have Indigo.

I'm very curious to see how these 2 colors are going to age over time.
There are many more items in my wish list in addition to the ones I have introduced today, so I will introduce them little by little.
