We just finished bringing in the first delivery of new Fall/Winter 2023 merchandise, and my fashion feeling has started to move on to thoughts of autumn and to wearing new clothes…
But - it's still super-hot every day here in Tokyo...and after only a 10-minute walk from the nearest train station to the KUON shop in Harajuku, I feel hot and tired.
So…my fashion sense is leaning toward Fall but in reality, I know we are very much in high-summer. Nevertheless, I want to let you know our classic upcycled Boro bucket hats and Boro trimmed leather belts are now back in stock and available here at our KUON shop in Tokyo and also on-line.
Upcycled Boro Type2
Since its first appearance in the Fall/Winter 2020 collection, this material has been one of the most popular. Over time we have collected many kinds of interesting textile remnants and assembled them together into cloth, creating an eco-friendly and sustainable fabric. Each meter of cloth is a unique creation, and so all the items made from it are one-of-a-kind.
We have restocked some well-liked styles that are great regardless of the season, the weather, or the time of year.
I find the shades of blue found in indigo to be cooling tones, they make me feel refreshed and relaxed.
The hat on the right is my own; I’ve been wearing it for almost 3 years. It was the first piece of KUON I ever bought, and I love the way it has aged and weathered over time.

I feel that the beauty and strength of Upcycled Boro Type 2 styles are further enhanced when exposed to the intensity of the strong summer sun.
The leather of the belts might be a little stiff when you first wear them, but they soften up nicely and fit your waist perfectly after a few weeks-worth of wear.
