Hi, it's Shohei.
In the KUON store, there are a lot of BORO, SASHIKO and SAKIORI, which are hand-made by craftsmen. (Actually, there are very few). This time, I would like to introduce a simple shirt from among the few plain clothes.
Perhaps it's because the temperature has risen, but I'm in the mood for a white shirt.
(I want to roll up the sleeves and wear it roughly.)
(I've been working in a t-shirt every day, and I'm starting to feel uncomfortable.)
With that in mind, I decided to write about KUON's white shirts on this blog because I tried them on in the store and they were great.
This wrinkled look is created by sun-drying in the warm climate of Enshu.
Fanage is a French word that means the process of making hay.
This is a simple plain shirt, but it is full of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
What is FANAGE COTTON?
As I mentioned earlier, this is a technique can be said unique to Enshu.
They are dyed by hand by artisans who have a unique technique that has been handed down from generation to generation, and then dried in the sun under the strong winds and plenty of sunlight of the Enshu region.
The unique wrinkled look is expressed by the time-consuming handwork by skilled craftsmen and natural drying without using machines, etc.
The warp and weft of this high-density dump fabric (typewriter fabric) is made in Enshu and Hamamatsu, using No. 40 single yarn and increased insertion to the limit.
The white color is bleached once, overdyed, and dried in the sun.
The white color is bleached once, overdyed, and dried in the sun. It may sound like a painstaking process, but the unique color and texture are created through the painstaking process.
I can't tell you in words what kind of fabric it is, so please come to the store and pick it up.
Details
It is designed in such a way that the sleeves can be attached neatly by leaving room in the front.
While retaining the classic white shirt feel, the silhouette is clean and modern.
If you look closely, you can feel the roominess around the collar.
The collar tends to shrink when washed, so we made it roomy so that you can wear it for a long time.
The placement of the breast pocket is also interesting, so let's enlarge it.
The pocket is placed right next to the front placket.
The position of the pocket is a little low, so it may not be called a breast pocket...This is the designer's playfulness.
The hem on the sides.
At the side of the hem, a lining of the same material is applied to hide the thread and maintain strength. This kind of attention to detail makes me very happy.
In addition to white, we also have a color between gray and beige.
Please come and take a look.
Last but not least, KUON Flagship Store is in a comic book!!
【服福人々-ふくふくひとびと-】(Fuku-fuku-Hitobito)
The author, Taku SAKAMOTO interested in KUON and visited us before publishing it.
He gave us a permission to post about it a little bit.
People who have visited our store realize the quality of reproducing the store.

We are so happy to be featured!
By the way, 【Fukufuku Hitobito】on the bookshelf in the store is a favorite book of all the KUON staff.
I was curious to read the rest of the book and was looking forward to seeing KUON in it. You'll also be hooked.
Here is a photo that we had Mr. Sakamoto in the store.
(This is his first time to show his face in public!)
Sakamoto-san, we always welcome your visit!
Thank you!
