夏の定番キューバシャツ

KUON version of Guayabera

Hi it's Shohei.

Now in Tokyo, Sakura is super beautiful! It is obviously one of the best season to visit Japan in the late March to early April. Sakura makes me happy even though I see it every year. Today I will introduce a shirt that I recently purchased and I'm into.

Twisted Pleat Guayabera Shirket

夏の定番キューバシャツ

Twisted Pleat Guayabera Shirket (Available in store and inquiry)
Color: White, Sage Green
Price: ¥29,700(tax included)

This shirt jacket is inspired by Guayabera, one of the most popular shirt for Summer in Japan as well as Hawaiian shirts. It is originally a traditional cloth in the Central America especially for Cuba.

I usually wear a Medium or a Large for shirts of KUON, but I selected XL for this shirt jacket. I thought the larger size would give me a wider range of ways to wear it, such as folding the sleeves or wearing a shirt inside...

Pin tuck inspired by Origami

夏の定番キューバシャツ

Origami-inspired tuck decoration on the front is rhythmically designed like a flowing river.

Here is a look from a distance. I guess you can see the uniqueness.

The tuck patterns were prototyped on paper many times before they were created on fabric.

This kind of prototyping adds craftiness to KUON products.

Elegant resort wear

I found some sort of elegance in this resort oriented shirt, and it was one of the reasons for my impulse purchase.

I usually tend to wear comfortable clothes, but this item introduced in a recent blog is also a recent favorite. I like casual clothes, but I am in the mood to wear something classy among them.

The dense Supima cotton broadcloth has a glossy look, which is the key to adding elegance to resort-style items.

It will be very useful as a light jacket this time of year and as a shirt with the sleeves rolled up in the summer.

Please take a look at a video at the end.

Twisted Pleat Guayabera Shirket is not on the e-store, but available for inquiries. If you are interested in it, please drop us a line.

Thank you!
